I see it. I like it. I make it.

Found a gem of a blog today that inspires the artsy crafty chic that I am. Often I find myself browsing through ridiculously expensive shops with overpriced accessories and say ehhh..I can make that for about 2% of their listed price. Sounds like this lady author had the same idea.

I really love the collage/mood boards that she put together before getting her craft on. They remind me of an old sketchbook that I used to have, where I collected images & words that inspired me. Time to get back on it!

Brilliant advertising. A unique example of how doing the unexpected makes a big impact.

When I was a wee college student, I was fortunate enough to get an internship at a design agency in downtown Long Beach called The Designory. They are most famously known for designing top quality car brochures for clients such as Nissan, Infiniti and Subaru. I still keep in contact with some of the Art Directors there and ask them from to time what they’ve been up to. Apparently, the new thing is dynamic car brochures. This made me super excited, as I am trying to get my feet wet in the interactive realm. I love the fact that they are taking traditional media and re-adapting it to something more interactive, while maintaining the same look and feel of the brand. Check out this one that they did for the 2011 Subaru Outback.

…is AMAZINGGG. I got this little gem a couple of months ago for less than 25 buckaroos. Brought to you by TheDieline.com(one of my favorite blogs), the book is filled with a collection of their favorite packaging from all around the world. As print designers, we all(ok most), love working on packaging. For me, I miss working with my hands on creating tangible, 3-D pieces. Also, I think I probably miss art school. But anyways, check this book out. It will rock your sox off.
